html5 - schema.org - blogposting vs article -
if want use schema.org microdata blog, should use
http://schema.org/article or http://schema.org/blogposting ?
do know if supported equally google :) ?
all markup supported google (for rich snippets @ least) listed here:
rich snippets - breadcrumbs
rich snippets - events
rich snippets - music
rich snippets - organizations
rich snippets - people
rich snippets - products
rich snippets - recipes
rich snippets - review ratings
rich snippets - reviews
rich snippets - software applications
rich snippets - videos: facebook share , rdfa
schema.org markup videos
supported software application types
as see unfortunately there no article or blogposting type. these types supported equally - not supported :)
there general recommendation:
feel free use structured mark format suits site's needs - though might not support it, may add in future. love structured data!
and better use more specific type broader 1 if suitable (blogposting in case).
however can still rich snippets partly using other markup part (property) of article/blogposting object or separately (e.g., see reviews or breadcrumbs).
update
i found out google consumes schema.org/article in couple of products:
- rich preview page @ g+ (with +1 button). functional equivalent of opengraph (but google likes schema.org more)
- appearing in "in-depth articles" (pretty new).
as unor points out in 1 of answers (very link btw!) schema.org/blogposting more specific type of schema.org/article. i'm not 100% sure work way these products. i.e. don't think google treats equally schema.org/article , schema.org/blogposting +1 button , in-depth articles. because of advise use schema.org/article.
