magento - Merge CSS files not populating -


i have migrated magento website had been using merge_css_files successfully. on new server cannot work , appreciate advice on matter. system create css files in media/css blank (unpopulated). suspect might server worked on old server.

i have toggled merge css on , off, flushed caches multiple times, deleted files media/css folder, updated file , folder permissions, checked ownership in ftp.

perhaps have experienced same or advise on possible solution?

How to remove text and logo OR add Overflow on Android ActionBar using AppCompat on API 8? -
